The Weber State University Oral History Project began conducting interviews with key Weber State University faculty, administrators, staff and students, in Fall 2007. The program focuses primarily on obtaining a historical record of the school along with important developments since the school gained university status in 1990. The interviews explore the process of achieving university status, as well as major issues including accreditation, diversity, faculty governance, changes in leadership, curricular developments, etc. |

Biographical/Historical Note |
The following is an oral history interview with Kathleen M. Lukken. Dr. Lukken was the founder of the first dental hygiene program in Utah and Weber State's First Year Experience program. She joined Weber State faculty in 1976 in the Health Professions department and later served the university as Associate Provost. The interview was conducted in two parts, the first on January 27, 2010, and the second on February 16, 2010. The first interview focuses on Dr. Lukken's personal history and the beginning of her interaction with Weber State. The second interview focuses on the years she has served as an administrator on campus. John Sillito conducted the interview in the Weber State University Stewart Library. |
