African American Youth Conference There will be an African American Youth Conference on Wednesday, May 12, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at Weber State University (Education Building/Room 104). The conference theme is, “High School and Beyond.” This conference is geared toward students in 10" to 12" grades and will feature breakout sessions on money management for youth, career choices, college admissions/financial aide, etc. Parents and school counselors are also encouraged to attend. Reverend Abrams officially announced his retirement as Pastor of New Zion Baptist Church on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at their monthly business Sister Gloria Abrams meeting. He noted his desire to be obedient to God and this action is in response to what has been revealed to him by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He announced his retirement would be effective Sunday, May 30, 2004.
