The people at the opening of Red Ribbon Week was a prime example of flexible volunteers. The fact that Weber State had students representing the University in a national effort for drug awareness is awesome! The volunteers at McKay Dee hospital saved staff hours and hours of work by organizing and filling binders. The time saved them can now be spent directly on patient care. Ogden has 163 acre Nature Center. The volunteers we sent raked leafs, cleaned out ponds, and generally prepared the grounds for winter. I’m sure Mother Nature appreciates our efforts, as well as the people that take time to enjoy Nature’s beauty. Individually we hope everyone brought home a new feeling, idea or different perspective. He served as president until he retired. Mr. Buckner graduated from Weber College in 1942. He earned a bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University. Mrs. Smith, born in Salt Lake City, is president of American Mothers Inc. She also served as co-chairwoman of the group’s 1994 annual convention in Salt Lake City. She has written seven books and lectured extensively in most countries in the world on the importance of women. Mrs. Smith served her church as a Relief Society, Primary and Young Women’s representative in Asia, and as a member of several boards including the educational system board of trustees, the Lion House board of advisors, Raymond S. Uno is a retired court judge and serves as senior judge of Utah’s third-district court. Mr. Uno, born in Ogden, graduated from Weber College in 1954.
