Wendell Davis, undershepherd of Union | Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama {since September 1989, is only the third Pastor in Union Chapel’s 75 year history. Following the seeds planted and sowed by his predecessors, spiritual edification has been his primary goal. To that end, he established the Union Chapel Institute of Biblical Studies in 1998, and a year later mid-day weekly bible study. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Davis oversaw the construction of a new worship facility to accommodate the church’s growing membership. Realizing that a church must meet the needs of a family, Pastor Davis spearheaded the building of a new Child Development Center, a Family Life Center for continuous family enrichment, a new Christian Academy facility, and a Church Pavilion with a seating capacity of 612. Wendell Davis, undershepherd of Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in | Huntsville, Alabama since September 1989, is only the third Pastor in Union Chapel’s 75 | year history. Following the seeds planted and “sowed by his_ predecessors, _ spiritual edification has been his primary goal. To that end, he established the Union Chapel Institute of Biblical Studies in 1998, and a year later mid-day weekly bible study. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Davis oversaw the construction of a new worship facility to accommodate the church’s growing membership. Realizing that a church must meet the needs of a family, Pastor Davis spearheaded the building of a new Child Development Center, a Family Life Center for continuous family enrichment, a new Christian Academy Pavilion with a seating capacity of 612. facility, and a Church Dr. Davis earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Athens State University; a Master Science in Christian Ministry, Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry, and the Doctor of Ministry in Church History from Southern Christian University (now known as Amridge University). He is the author of several books, a former radio Christian talk show host and conducts workshops ranging from Marriage Enrichment to Developing Christian Leaders. He is affiliated with the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. Inc., National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, Alabama State Congress of Christian Education, National, State, and local Economic Development Initiatives to name a few. He and his wife, Dora, who now call Huntsville home, are the proud parents of three sons. Pastor Davis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Gulfport, Mississipp1.
