Sister Gray is the daughter of the late Tom Johnson, Jr. of Montgomery, LA, and Ruby L. Jones of Vicksburg, MS. She is the mother of two sons and two daughters and_ the grandmother of nine grandchildren. Sister Gray gave her life to Christ at the early age of nine years old and hasn’t turned back. She may have wondered a little bit but she’s still yet “holding on.” New Zion was her first spiritual home where she became involved in most a number of ministries in the church serving as an usher, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and she held an office in two of the ministries. She was also member of the Heavenly Walkers, a group consisting of four sisters, Zenobia and Cecelia Smith, and Estelle, her sister. In 1965, Sister Gray graduated from Ogden High School and went on to take several jobs of which were working for Grand Central, the U.S. Forest Service and the local telephone company. After being with the telephone company for a while, Sister Gray transferred and became a resident of California for 25 years. During her stay there, she went to business college and received her diploma as a Medical Secretary. She went on to work in several doctors’ offices and a VA Outpatient Clinic. While in California, Sister Gray was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church where she was also involved in the choir and praise team. She participated in the Youth Department and taught Sunday School as an alternate teacher. In 1994, Sister Gray moved back to Utah after transferring her job with the U.S. Postal Service. She immediately found a church home at Second Baptist and became active as a choir director, youth director and Sunday School teacher. After being prompted by the Holy Spirit to come back to her first home, she reunited with New Zion Baptist Church in 2007. Now retired from the Postal Service since 2009, Sister Gray has taken on another job at the Fresenius Medical Facility. She loves being around people and being active. Her one desire is to finally slow down “a little” and commit to doing God’s business full time because 99 /2 won't do. New Zion Bap tist Church . CRO SOI BPC OST): Ce TAYE... ; A *.
