Martha Turner would like to extend an invitation to all New Zion members and their families who attended our recent Vacation Bible School earlier this month to an Annual Client Appreciation Outing to be held on Thursday, July 5", 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Roy Aquatic Center. This event, which is being hosted by Caldwell Bankers, will include food, drinks and prize drawings. He is the second oldest of three brothers and one sister. Reverend Daniels grew up as a military dependent and traveled extensively throughout the US and abroad. He graduated from Butler High School (Huntsville, Alabama) in 1978 and joined the United States Army in August of that year and served honorably until August of 1990. Reverend Daniels received an Associate of Arts Degree from the University of Maryland in January of 1990. He ts a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the University of Maryland Alumni Association. He currently works for Northrop Grumman as a Systems Analyst on Hill Air Force Base in Ogden Utah. After running for many years, Reverend Daniels accepted his call to the Gospel Ministry in Sept 2003 and was licensed to preach in November of that year. He was ordained in July 2008 and currently serves as Associate Minister at True Vine Baptist Church in Kaysville, Utah, where the Reverend Lamar T. Jackson is Senior Pastor. He was wed to Ms. Kathy Michelle Wilder in September of 1980. They have three children and four grandchildren. Vaughn, the son of Lawrence and Lula Vaughn, was born and reared in Sumter, SC. Upon graduation from Sumter High School in 1977, Pastor Vaughn attended South Carolina State College where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Technology in 1981. After receiving the call into the gospel ministry, Pastor Vaughn realized that he should study to show himself approved and enrolled in the Christian Life School of Theology in Columbus, GA, where he received a Bachelor of Divinity, Master of Theology, Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees. He was solemnly and publically set apart and ordained to the work of the Gospel ministry by the authority and order of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the Sumter Baptist Missionary and Educational Association in April 1999. He was called to pastor Elizabeth Baptist Church in Manning, SC, in March 2002. Pastor Vaughn believes in hard work and dedication. Hence, he has been employed with New Jersey Bell, Utica Tools, and the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He is presently the owner and operator of Vaughn’s Cleaning Service. Pastor Vaughn is very active in his community and holds membership in several organizations. His service includes working with The Sumter Baptist Missionary & Educational Association, vice-chair of the Pastor’s Ministry, the Black Concerned C lergy of Sumter, the Clarendon County Ministerial Alliance and the Clarendon County United Ministries. (3) He is also a member of the Sumter Branch of the NAACP and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, in which he is a life member. Pastor Vaughn realizes for the church to grow and prosper, it must have godly men and women strong in faith and committed to service. The deacons, deaconess and trustees under his pastorate have undergone intense training classes ensuring knowledge of the qualifications and responsibilities of their leadership positions. He has taught studies on The Articles of Faith, Spiritual Gifts, How to Have an Effective Prayer Life and the Purpose Driven Life. Pastor Vaughn is married to the former Carolyn Green and they are the proud parents of five loving and adorable children: Janet, Lee, Nicole, Demetrius and Brandon. Mrs. Vaughn, a Sumter native, is a graduate of Morris College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She has also received a Master of Education degree in Elementary Education and Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1982 and 2007 respectively. Mrs. Vaughn is employed as Coach at F.J. DeLaine Elementary School in a Curriculum Wedgefield, SC, with 31 years of experience at the elementary level. At Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, Mrs. Vaughn has a vital role She serves with the Deaconess, Missionary, in several ministries. She is a Church Hospitality, and Praise and Worship ministries. for the School teacher and has served as the assistant superintendent Church School, advisor for the Youth Ministry, as well as the director of the Youth Choir and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Vaughn is also a member of the Inspirational and Mass Choirs. Mrs. Vaughn compliments her husband in the ministry. She realizes that her support for Pastor Vaughn does much to strengthen and encourage him in the ministry. She partners with him as he visits the sick and shut-in members and she also accompanies him as he represents the church at various public and private functions. Even more important than visible support, Mrs. Vaughn offers daily prayers for her husband who has devoted his life to the Lord and the body of people he serves. McCall Jr. His mother Deaconess Pauline McCall and sister Evangelist Karen Lynn McCall both reside in New Jersey. In 1993, Carey married Phyllis M. Ligon and from this union two spirit-filled and God gifted children were added, Bijan Cameron, 14 years of age, and Afton Kennedy Jireh McCall, 11 years old. Reverend McCall having attended the Hackensack Public Schools successfully graduated in 1980. Upon graduation, he pursued higher education at the William Paterson College in Wayne, New Jersey. He graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts. degree in Communication and a minor in Business Administration/Accounting. Patent Construction Systems Corporate Division located in Paramus New Jersey formally employed him. In _ this organization, he was solely responsible for complying with all Tax laws as it related to property, sales and use and various reporting schedules to the parent company Harsco. He received his foundational training from the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Hackensack, New Jersey under the Pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. James Patrick Coleman Sr. He was involved in many of the choirs, youth programs and severed as one of the Jr. Deacons. At Mount Olive Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. Gregory J. Jackson, Rev. McCall grew to become one of the persons who served on ad-hoc committees and the budget ministry. Often times Pastor Jackson would give Rev. McCall the opportunity to lead worship services. (3) In 1994, the McCall’s through the leading of the Lord continued to grow in God at the Community Baptist Church of Englewood New Jersey. During the time at CBC, the call to the ministry was conveyed to Rev. Dr. Lester W. Taylor Jr. who placed him in the | role of Minister in Training. Dr. Taylor encouraged him to pursue biblical training outside of the church confines and Rev. McCall enrolled in The New York School of the Bible. Rev. McCall was licensed to the gospel ministry on May 25, 1995 at Community Baptist Church. Upon two and one half years of completion in the certificate programs, the thirst for more became evident. Rev. McCall graduated with a Masters of Divinity Degree from the New York Theological Seminary on May 19, 2002. The Saint Paul Baptist Church of Passaic New Jersey extended a call in March 2001 giving this preacher, teacher, worshiper the opportunity to become her next pastor.
