Michelle Boyer SUBJECT “Somebody Prayed for You” | 7) 1, Z [ me TEXT John 17:20 (King James Version) VERSE 20: Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; (1) f Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge and holiness; to give it a place in our affections, prayers and services above every organization of human origin; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine; to contribute cheerfully and regularly, as God has prospered us, towards its expenses, for the support of a faithful and evangelical ministry among us, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. In case of difference of opinion in the church, we will strive to avoid a contentious spirit, and if we cannot unanimously agree, we will cheertully recognize the right of the majority to govern. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to study diligently the word of God; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be kind and Just to those in our employ, and faithful in the service we promise others; endeavoring in the purity of heart and good will towards all men to exemplify and commend our holy faith. _ We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other unto every good word and work; to guard each other's reputation, not needlessly exposing the infirmities of others; to participate in each other's joys, and with tender sympathy bear one anothers burdens and sorrows; to cultivate Christian courtesy; to be slow to give or take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful of the rules of the Savior in the — eighteenth chapter of Matthew, to secure it without delay; and through life, amid evil report, and good report, to seek to live to the glory of God, who has | called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. When we remove from this place, we engage as soon as possible to unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word. (7) IN QUIET COMMUNION Take and eat as you remember, The sacrifice that I made, The bread and wine that represents, The life I willingly gave. My body beaten and pierced with nails, My blood poured from my side, For it was the only way for you To receive eternal life. As you sit and reflect a moment, Confess your sins to Me Let My blood cleanse you again So you will truly be free. Then when you're ready to partake, Be thankful and be glad, For you, My child, have many blessings, That others do not have. So let this communion time extend, To bless somebody else, Reaching out to touch a life, That may be in need of help. But don't let this time just pass you by Not letting it touch your need, For I've ordained this communion time So you can fellowship with Me. (I) The Christian Mintster 2 Corinthians 4 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; but have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the Word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but no destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. So then death worketh in us, but life in you. We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, | believed, and therefore have | spoken; believe, and therefore speak; we also Knowing that He which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound of the glory of God. For which case we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a fare more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; (Iogether) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. VERSE 2: For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. But thanks be to God that you, having once been slaves of sin, have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were entrusted, and that you, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for self-indulgence, but through love become slaves to one another. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, despicable, hating one another. (Iogether) But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the water of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. I saw so many people there in bondage to their sin And Jesus told me I should go, that there were souls to win. But I said “Jesus, I can’t go to lands across the seas.” He answered quickly, “Yes, you can by traveling on your knees.” He said, “You pray, I’ll meet the need. You call, and I will hear. It’s up to you to be concerned for lost souls far and near. ” And so I did; I knelt in prayer, gave up some hours of ease. And with the Savior by my side, I traveled on my knees. SERMON POINTS Point One: The Church Disciples People Through the Holy Scriptures Point Two: The Church Disciples People Through Our Words Point Three: The Church Disciples People Through Our Conduct (1) | Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other and with tender sympathy bear one another's burdens and sorrows; to cultivate Christian courtesy; to be slow to give or take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful of the rules of the Savior in the eighteenth chapter of Matthew, to secure it without delay; and through life, amid evil report, and good report, to seek to live to the glory of God, who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light. When we remove from this place, we engage as soon as possible to unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.
