127_POW Camp Workers III

Title 127_POW Camp Workers III
Description A collection of photographs and oral history quotes that document the history of the Prisoner of War camp at Defense Depot Ogden that opened in 1943 and closed in 1946. The oral histories were conducted with widows of German and Italian POWs, former guards, and community members that worked with the POWs.
Image Captions I don't know anything about the German uniforms because we always had PW on them. PW cross the back and on the leg. Like one time I was out in the open storage area . . . I looked up on a stack about 15-20 fee high, there was a German up there. He had a bunch of American clothing and he was painting PW on it, getting the clothing for himself or someone else. -Gene and Allie Lawler
