Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church, and gave Himself for it. That He might sanctify it and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that He might present it to Himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to loves their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church. For we are members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This ts a great mystery: but | speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself: and the wife see that she reverence her husband. Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and thy mother; which is the first commandment with promise; that it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. The Chairpersons of the Women’s & Men's Day Planning Committee would like to acknowledge and thank all the members of our church family who so lovingly labored to make this annual celebration an uplifting time of worship, praise and Christian fellowship. It is their heartfelt desire that all in attendance will reflect upon these services as being enjoyable, memorable and spirit-filled. This was the first opportunity for both Chairpersons to serve in this capacity and their sincere prayers were to edify and glorify their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The manifestation of their prayers has come to fruition because of all the saints in attendance who prayed on one accord in concert with them. A special “thank you” is extended to Evangelist Vashti Ervin and her family and Reverend Corey Hodges and his New Pilgrim Baptist Church family for accepting our invitations to minister to us through the spoken word, music and Christian fellowship. May our Lord richly bless each and everyone for graciously serving Him in love, spirit and truth. Hearing God’s Word in the Sermon .... \ 3 oes e It is reported that we forget 90% of what we hear. Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which | command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. When | call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and | am persuaded is in you also. (All Together) Therefore | remind you to sir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. ~ VERSE 1: I was sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore; Very deeply stained within, sinking to rise no more; But the Master of the sea heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me — now safe am I. CHORUS: Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me. Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me. VERSE 2: All my heart to Him I give, ever to Him I’ll cling; In His blessed presence live, ever His praises sing. Love so mighty and so true merits my soul’s best songs; Faithful, loving service too to Him belongs. CHORUS: Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me. Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me. VERSE 3: Souls in danger, look above, Jesus completely saves; He will lift you by His love out of the angry waves. He’s the Master of the sea, billows His will obey; He your Savior wants to be -- be saved today. CHORUS: Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me. Love lifted me, love lifted me; When nothing else could help, love lifted me.
