Depart to Serve” ns The Church Covenant la —_—A_ wl Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, And on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain to worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine: To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; To avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger. To abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress, to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rule of our Savior to secure it without delay. (All Together) We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word. “Nothing But the Blood”’ VERSE 1: What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but he blood of Jesus. CHORUS: Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. VERSE 2: For my pardon this I see, nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my cleansing, this my plea, nothing but the blood of Jesus. CHORUS: Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. VERSE 3: Nothing can for sin atone, nothing but the blood of Jesus; Naught of good that I have done; nothing but the blood of Jesus. CHORUS: Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. which is good. Abhor that which ts evil; cleave to that Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. (Together) Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as such as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. VERSE 1; As I journey through the land singing as I go, pointing souls to Calvary to the crimson flow; Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within; But my Lord leads me on, thro’ Him I must win. CHORUS: OI want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. VERSE 2: When in service for my Lord, dark may be the night; But I'll cling more close to Him, He will give me light; Satan’s snares may vex my soul, turn my thoughts aside; But my Lord goes ahead, leads whate’er be tide. CHORUS: O 1 want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the stréets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. VERSE 3: When in valleys low I look toward the mountain height, and behold my Savior there, leading in the fight; With a tender hand outstretched toward the valley low; Guiding me, I can see, as I onward go. CHORUS: OI want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. Thought for the Day ... Dissension’s fuse is easy to ignite— It fuels our anger, yet dims our light. Help us, we pray, humbly to seek Your Name, and in pride’s place restore the Spirit’s flame. Christian Commitment (Romans 12:1-18) | beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For | say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Deaconess Martha Luke VERSE I: As I journey through the land singing as I go, pointing souls to Calvary to the crimson flow; Many arrows pierce my soul from without, within; But my Lord leads me on, thro’ Him I must win. CHORUS: O 1 want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. VERSE 2: When in service for my Lord, dark may be the night; But I'll cling more close to Him, He will give me light; Satan’s snares may vex my soul, turn my thoughts aside; But my Lord goes ahead, leads whate’er be tide. CHORUS: O I want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. VERSE 3: When in valleys low I look toward the mountain height, and behold my Savior there, leading in the fight; With a tender hand outstretched toward the valley low; Guiding me, I can see, as I onward go. CHORUS: O 1 want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. sent from God, whose name was John. There was a man The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. But as many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (Together) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. CHORUS: He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart. VERSE 2: In all the world around me I see His loving care, and tho my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that He is leading thru all the stormy blast, the day of His appearing will come at last. CHORUS: He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart. VERSE 3: Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian, lift up your voice and sing, eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King! The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find, none other is so loving, so good and kind. CHORUS: He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
