Depart to Serve” Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, And on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain to worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine: To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; To avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger. To abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and alstress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rule of our Savior to secure it without delay. (All Together) We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word. — “When VERSE 1: We All Get to Heaven” Sing the wondrous love of Jesus, sing His mercy and His grace; In the mansions bright and blessed, He’ll prepare for us a place. CHORUS: When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all get to heaven, we'll sing and shout the VICtOry. VERSE 2: While we walk the pilgrim pathway, clouds will over spread the sky; But when trav’ling days are over, not a shadow, not a sigh. CHORUS: When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all get to heaven, we'll sing and shout the victory. VERSE 3: Let us then be true and faithful, trusting, serving every day; Just one glimpse of Him in glory, will the toils of life repay. CHORUS: When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all get to heaven, we'll sing and shout the victory. VERSE 4: Onward to the prize before us! Soon His beauty we'll behold; Soon the pearly gates will open, we shall tread the streets of gold. CHORUS: When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all get to heaven, we'll sing and shout the victory. Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers, that stretcheth out to the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth tem out as a first tent to dwell in. That bringeth the princes to nothing; He maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown; yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth; and He Shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind Shall take them away as stubble. . To whom then will ye liken me, or shall | be equal? Saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; that not one faileth. Why saith thou, O Jacob, and speaketh O Israel, my way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding. He giveth power to the faint: and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youth shall fain and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. (All Together) But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; and they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. VERSE 1: How to reach the masses, men of every birth, for an answer Jesus gave the key; “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 2: Oh! the world is hungry for the Living Bread, lift the Savior up for them to see; Trust Him, and do not doubt the words that He said, “I'll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 3: Don’t exalt the preacher, don’t exalt the pew, preach the gospel simple, pure and free; Prove Him and you will find that promise is true, “I’ll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 4: Lift Him up by living as a Christian ought, let the world in you the Savior see; Then men will gladly follow Him who once taught, “I'll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” Thought for the Day... Hath it not been told you from the beginning? Have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out to the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth tem out as a first tent to dwell in. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For | say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; _ Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Sabrina _Davis_from Hattiesburg, MS, who_have_been_ here _ visiting with_us_since September 13". We were especially blessed by Rev. Davis’ spiritually uplifting Bible study on this past Friday, where he skillfully broke the seal and enabled us to delve into the heart of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:1-6. We also enjoyed a memorable time of congregational fellowship with them on yesterday afternoon. It is our prayer that they have enjoyed their visit with us and will continue to be covered in God’s grace as they travel home on tomorrow. Commitment (Romans 12:1-18) | beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 29" Church Anniversary True Vine Baptist Church will conclude their 29" Annual Revival and Church Anniversary celebration on this afternoon, September For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. by Faith and Love for Christ [1% Thessalonians 1:3]. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. (Together) Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as such as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. “Hold to God’s Unchanging Hand” VERSE 1: Time is filled with swift transition, naught of earth unmoved can stand; Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand. CHORUS: Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand. VERSE 2: Trust in Him who will not leave you, what so ever years may bring; If by earthly friends forsaken, still more closely to Him cling. CHORUS: Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand. VERSE 3: Covet not this world’s vain riches, if to God you have been true; Seek to gain the heavenly treasures, they will never pass away. CHORUS: Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand. VERSE 4: When your journey is completed, if to God you have been true; Fair and bright the home in glory, your enraptured soul will view. CHORUS: Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Hold to His hand, God’s unchanging hand; Build your hopes on things eternal, hold to God’s unchanging hand. Thought for the Day... Man knoweth not the price thereof: neither is it found in the land of the living. Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her. Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her. The Lord by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath He established the heavens. By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion: so shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck. Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken. VERSE 2: When in service for my Lord, dark may be the night; But I'll cling more close to Him, He will give me light; Satan’s snares may vex my soul, turn my thoughts aside; But my Lord goes ahead, leads whate’er be tide. CHORUS: OI want to see Him, look upon His face, there to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice; Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice. Depart to Serve”’ The Church Covenant Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, And on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rule of our Savior to secure it without delay. (All Together) We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word. Whereby are given unto us exceeding and great precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Let us remind ourselves that is takes a whole village to raise a child to compassion, competence, and character. We celebrate their gifts and strengths. We pray for them. Lord, help us to hear the dreams and concems of children, and to never give up on them. We thank You for David, who found favor with you and was anointed king in his youth. We also thank You for Josiah who became king at eight years of age, and whose reign was pleasing to You. We thank You for the young maiden who instructed Naaman to see the prophet. We also thank You for Miriam who led with her brother Moses, for Jeremiah who was called from his mother’s womb, and for Jesus who confounded the chief priests and scribes at the age of twelve. As the lives of children and youth are channeled to schooling and career preparation, help them find the time to read and to understand Your commandments, to know and to love Jesus Christ, and to be witnesses of Your saving grace to their own generation. O Lord, position significant and caring adults in their lives to guide our children to discover the unique potential which You have placed within each of them. Shield them from all hurt, harm and danger. Shelter them from abuse, low self-esteem, drugs, pornography, prostitution, and poverty. VERSE 2: Just the other day I heard a man say he didn’t believe in God’s Word; I can surely say God has made a way; He’s never failed me yet. CHORUS: Thank God — we’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord; Trusting in His Holy Word, He’s never failed me yet. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh — can’t turn around, we’ve come this far by faith. CHORUS: We’ve come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord; Trusting in His Holy Word, He’s never failed me yet. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh — can’t turn around, we’ve come this far by faith.
