Show BHP Memorandum BHP Asset Protection 8 February 1999 TO: Bonnie Predny FROM: Pamela Mott Records Coordinator SEARCH FOR SAN JUAN EXPORTER PHOTOS Bonnie, I spent some time searching the Archives today for information and/or photos on the old Marcona ships. I searched the Index and the card catalog and several drawers and stacks of binders, but I was unable to find the brochure that I showed you. I'm attaching copies of two photos that I did find in a file folder under the title Marcona (uncataloged materials). It is possible there is additional uncataloged materials; however, it would take additional time to check everything in the Archives. There are some articles relating to Marcona Corporation in the old Utah reports (which Jay Rhodes has copies of), so it you wanted to check those out, I could get the references for them and you can check with Jay. I'm quite sure that any additional materials needed could be obtained from Ulrich Deising, as he was the Chief Engineer on the Marcona Exporter (ex San Juan Exporter) and he would have the most knowledge of the ship's historical documentation.
