President Suzie Venable conducted. A roll for June Breakfast guests was circulated. Kera Hill and Suzie Venable beautifully sang “Whom Shall | Serve?”. They were accompanied by Suzanne Poole. The play for the evening was “2 Across” by Jerry Mayer. It was wonderfully performed by Suzie Venable, Bonnie Whitaker, and Kera Hill. It is the story of Janet and Josh, who meet on board the 4:15 a.m. BART as it leaves the San Francisco station heading toward the East Bay. Can their struggle through the New York Times crossword puzzle be used as a metaphor of life: people who finish and people who don’t, people who are committed and people who aren’t? With each passing stop, they learn a little bit more about each other. As their differences become apparent, so does their fascination with each other. They try to solve not only their crossword puzzles, but also the puzzles of their lives. A delicious cheesecake with fresh strawberries was served by hostesses Jolene Zito and Jolene Rausch. It was a very entertaining evening. Respectfully submitted by Joyce Stillwell for Charyol Wilcox (who had surgery earlier that day) j —£ j . NIAAA ; D : mome: j2 f/f. , “ples?
