Carol Hurst. Minutes were read from May and June meetings. Val Newton read a few sections from the Drama Club It was announced that Drama club Constitution. monthly meetings will not be printed in the Standard Examiner because of changes in the paper's policy. Carol admonished us all to refer to our books for dates of meetings and to remember to pay dues. October and November meetings will be held the 3rd Thursday of the month this year. Dr. Gordon Martha Krebs reported on Guest Night. Allred and Sharon Allred will give a presentation. A letter was received from the Ogden Symphony/Ballet Assoc. requesting an annual donation. There were 17 members present. A Treasurer’s report was given by Judy Anderson who indicated there was present time. $644.84 in the treasury at the Helen Harding moved that the report be accepted. It was seconded by Jo D Ann Dance and passed unanimously. A discussion followed concerning Guest Night. It was proposed that an honorarium of $25 be paid to both Dr. Gordon Allred and his wife Sharon, guest speakers for the program. It was moved by Helen Harding and seconded by Val Newton. The motion passed unanimously. Members were advised that there would be a $1.00 fee for quests but no charge for members. Carol then commented on the death of John Elzey. She wondered if some sort of donation should be made in his behalf. It was moved by Helen Plowgian that the Drama Club contribute $25 to the Weber State University Theatre Arts Dept. It was seconded by Margaret Farr. The motion passed unanimously. Val reported on the play presented by Parlor Players to the Ladies Literary club held at Gwen Williams. The time was then turned over to Vera Eccles, program chairman for the evening. The play “The Rats” by Agatha Christie was presented by : Vera Eccles, Carol © Hurst, Afton Castlemain, Hazel Robertson,and Portia Douglas. Caro! announced that Utah Musical Theater asked the Drama Club to provide cookies for a reception at the opening of one of their productions this summer. Hazel Robertson and Val Newton volunteered to chair a committee to provide the cookies for My Fair Lady on Friday June 26th. We will be notified later as to where to take the cookies. Everyone was willing to help. Carol welcomed sustaining member Luacine Pingree who was visiting and participating in the program.
