Two other reminders of a New Year is making resolutions to put away the old you and starting over again with a new you. This happens every New Year (January 1°‘). Can you see this spiritually? It’s time out for looking at our actions intellectually alone. Here in our spiritual eye we put away the old man and start anew as a newborn baby; a new creature in Christ Jesus. Prayerfully Christ Jesus is still on your mind; after all you just celebrated His birth. Make not a resolution this year with the world, but a covenant with God. A covenant that consists of taking off weight of earthly things that causes you to stumble; a covenant to not spend unwisely, but to save to give tithes to take to the storehouse; a covenant to love more and to care more for your neighbor; a covenant to grow in Christ Jesus as you are created in righteousness and true holiness. Make a covenant [resolution if you will] that will take you farther than February. Be spiritually renewed this coming year. In His Authority, New Zion Baptist Church would like to cordially invite the entire community to Join us in expressing gratitude and appreciation to Pastor Bruce, Sr. & First Lady Sabrina Davis for the pastoral care they have provided over this past year. Pastor & First Lady Davis effectual ministry work has yielded much fruit; and it will be our pleasure to unite and give celebratory thanks unto our God, and Father, during their Second Pastoral Anniversary. Our celebration Scripture is 1 Corinthians 3:14, which inspires the theme: “A Christian Leader Building in the Kingdom of God.” Dr. Obie W. Davis, Senior Pastor of Union Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville, Alabama, is our guest preacher for this occasion. Therefore, mark your calendar, January 24, 2010, beginning at 3:30 pm. Dr. Bruce Davis, Sr. was an exceptional preacher, teacher of the Word of God and a compassionate pastoral care provider during this past year. His love has surpassed the expectations of the New Zion Baptist Church congregation, its affiliated churches, and those in our local community. His ability to do so was by the support given of First Lady Sabrina Davis. Not only did she provide for him, but she also provided a labor of love in various ministries. It is because of their united love that we have so much to be thankful for in this community. Let us be unified as well to honor them for the sacrifices they have made through spiritual care. If you or any ministry would like to present a special gift of appreciation, please feel free to do so. Rint— Should you have any questions regarding the anniversary celebration, please contact any of the Associate Pastors or the Church Office.
