Show The First Presidency of the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Salt Lake City, Utah, Dec. 7th 1896 Hon. David Eccles Pres. Oregon Lumber Co. Ogden. Dear Brother David:- I am in receipt of your esteemed favor of the 5th inst. with the accompanying check of $240.00 as dividend on my shares of Capital; stock in the O.L. Co. for 1896. This comes to me just at this time much like pure water in the desert to a thirsty travellor. I therefore feel very grateful first to the great giver of all good and next as yourself and the Oregon Lumber Co. and also to my friend L.W.N. to whose thoughtfulness and friendship I am largely endebted for the little interest I hold in the company. I recognize the fact that the success of the company greatly depends upon your skillful and wise management and untiring energy; I therefore appreciate your labors, and wish you continued and unbounded prosperity. May you succeed in all things as you have done in this great enterprise is my most sincere desire. Wish profound respect I am your friend and brother- Jos. F. Smith |
