Show January 24, 1972 Ing. Guillermo P. Salas See Rolodex for street address Director General del Consajo de Recursos Naturales No Renovables Mexico City, Mexico Dear Ing. Salas: I recall first meeting you in Santa Rosalia a number of years ago with George Nicol. You were enroute to Stanford University and we stopped for you at the Santa Rosalia airport after visiting a phosphate deposit in Baja, California. My very good friend, Charles Park speaks of you often. Would you be kind enough to send me a copy of the talk you gave last fall in Hermosillo before the Mining Association. The title was "Future Prospects of Mining in Sonora". Although I understand your talk was given in Spanish, this poses no problem as I can have it easily translated here. Also, would you be good enough to either loan to me the slides you used to illustrate the talk, or alternately, have reprints of the slides made at my expense. So if you will just let me know the amount of developing the slides, I shall send you a check by return mail. Also, I should mention that I am a long-time associate of Georges Ordonez; and although I am with Utah International, I do have an academic tie with Stanford University as a Research Associate, School of Earth Sciences. I have met your son Bill on one or two occasions at Dr. Kruger's seminars. With kind regards and looking forward to reading your interesting paper. Sincerely yours, Weston Bourret Vice President WB/nam |
