In 1928, Utah Construction Company completed its first project outside of the United States with the 110 mile railroad for Southern Pacific of Mexico. Over the next 30 years, UCC continued to work on projects in Mexico including dams, roads, mining, and canals. The collection contains several booklets and correspondence along with approximately 500 photographs. |

The following individuals may be able to provide the information you are seeking about copper exploration in Mexico: Ing. Amado Mesta Director General Direccion General de Minas y Petroleo Moneda 4, Mexico, D.F. Ing. Mesta supervises the mining registry, among other duties, and his office and a number of field offices keep track of new mining claims. Lic. Eduardo Gonzales Guerrier Gerente Camara de Minas Gante 14 Mexico, D.F. Lic. Gonzalez Guerrier can provide general information on mining progress in Mexico, particularly on the activities of the larger mines, which are members of the Chamber.
