We 10% to 12%. the double post card we sent to prospects we have gathered two seasons, now amounts to better than 16% of the total thought we wouldbe doing well if we would get around Returns are still coming at the rate of 400 to 600 per day. Considerable detail is necessary to properly handle these new prospects, at least, we are considering them as if they had just been developed, for all practical purposes. Addresses must be corrected, changes made in our files and a transfer made to a current list, prospect cards answered and Because of the names sent to dealers in his local town or nearby town. volume of these inquirieswe are having, you can imagine the amount of detail necessary to handle thes inquiries, which we are trying to do as fast General correspondence as possible and as explained in a previous letter. has been Proper netaos increased, because of this mailing of the double post cards and if are to be relied upon we certainly should get some business and we certainly have the independent dealers with us throughout the country. It is rare indeed for us now to receive even a mildly antagonistic letter and most of them are the other extreme. The above obviously is greatly increasing our overhead at this time, but I feel confident thatwe have never done more effective work, particularly If general conditions were only a little better our regarding the dealers. story would be a different one. While our total volume is not anything like it should be, our sales in number of Automatics to date exceed last year's business by about 300 guns, even including the heavy purchase of Ward in June of 1932. Our main business, that is, what we are getting, is now coming from the independent dealers, at least for the past few days. Our gun repair business waiting to go into the shop, is now keeping us busy. I just counted 85 all of which, with the shorter working day our code at the well occupied. and with Mr. Overhead is Jordan unavoidably Grand increasing, American though this week, keep I am keeping it at us jobs under pretty a minimum. |
