Depart to Serve” Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, And on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, We do now, in the presence of God, angels, and this assembl y, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love, to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain to worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine: To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances, to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements and exemplary in our deportment; To avoid all tattling, backbiting and excessive anger. To abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech; To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rule of our Savior to secure it without delay. (All Together) We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word. —_———— “Lift Him Up” VERSE 1: How to reach the masses, men of ev’ry birth, for an answer Jesus gave the key; “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 2: Oh, the world is hungry for the Living Bread, lift the Savior up for them to see; Trust Him, and do not doubt the words that He said, “I'll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 3: Don’t exalt the preacher, don’t exalt the pew, preach the Gospel simple, full and free; Prove Him and you will find that promise is true, “I'll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” VERSE 4: Lift Him up by living as a Christian ought, let the world in you the Savior see; Then men will gladly follow Him who once taught, “I'll draw all men unto Me.” CHORUS: Lift Him up, lift Him up; Still He speaks from eternity: “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” , Thought for the Day... r@. ts? . “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this 4 ) cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till He come.” (I Corinthians 11:26) Deaconess Martha Luke Chairperson, Sunshine Committee (801) 782-8337 Bro. Design by John Silvey Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre. And they entered in, and found not the body of Jesus Christ. And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: and as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” He is not here, but is risen: remember how He spake unto you when He was yet in Galilee, saying, “The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.” And they remembered His words, and returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles. Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them. And for their sakes | sanctify Myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray | for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in Me, and | in Thee, that they also may be one in Us: that the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me. Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, departed unto Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto | have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands upon them, they sent them away. So they, being sent forth by the Holy Ghost, Seleucia; and from thence they sailed to Cyprus. (All Together) And, when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to their minister.
