Description |
The United States is facing a surge in methamphetamine use due to the low cost of the drug and increased purity. Diagnostic medical imaging plays a key role in diagnosing cardiopulmonary injuries. Knowledge of methamphetamine use in patients with these injuries can change the course of treatment dramatically. Oftentimes, the complication may resolve with supportive care and cessation of use without aggressive treatment therapies. Drug screening and testing should be performed routinely when indicators of use are present to avoid unnecessary interventions. |
