From the 1870s to World War II, Ogden was a major railroad town, with nine rail systems. Biographical/Historical Note The following is a video clip from an oral history interview with Cliff Johnson. "Harman Peery. Harman Peery absolutely insisted, he was the mayor at that time, he absolutely insisted you could sit in the middle of 25th Street with 1,000 bill sitting by your side and be eating breakfast and go to sleep, when you woke up that 1,000 dollar bill would still be there. That was his attitude and him and my father were good, good friends."
