Show On behalf of the Institutional Council, the administration, faculty, and students, it is my sincere pleasure and honor to accept this beautiful and unique structure which adds dignity and expression to the campus and to the community at large. Inset on the observation deck tower is an engraved plaque memorializing former students, faculty, administration and governing boards of the institution, past, present and future. Standing as a campus landmark, the tower is symbolic of the growth and progress of Weber State. The music of the carillon will inspire the hearts of all those who visit or attend the institution and all those that live within range of its cheerful message. Especially it is significant at this time of year as the carillons portray the yuletide spirit of brotherhood and good will toward men. The generosity of the Stewarts has been felt over the entire campus for many years and we are truly grateful for their efforts directed toward our educational facilities and campus improvements. At a regular meeting held by the Institutional Council of the College, it was unanimously approved that the tower and carillons (completely donated by the Stewarts) be named and hereafter known as the Stewart Bell Tower in their honor. For many years ahead, the Stewart Bell Tower will be a lasting and permanent tribute to your generosity and sincere interest in the welfare of Weber State, Dated this 14th day of December, 1971 Frank Francis Jr. Frank Francis, Jr., Chairman Weber State College Institutional Council |
