She referred to the flower favors and said tulips can't tell everything, so she couldn't say all she would like to say about club members. But to tip-toe through the tulips today. She thanked Fern Taylor and the Parlor Players for their program and their years activity. Also Fern for the beautiful centerpieces from her garden, and the committee in charge of the day: JoD' Ann Dance, Chairman, Mickey Burdett, Judy Anderson, Portia and Kathy Douglas. She then turned her gavel to the in-coming president, Athlene Johnson. Athlene accepted her office by presenting a silver engraved bon bon dish to our out-going president, the traditional gift of appreciation and love. She paid tribute to Val saying she had given a five star performance with many curtain calls. She then introduced the officers for 1980-81: Vice President, Fern Taylor; Recording Secretary, Mickey Burdett; Corresponding Secretary, Helen Plowgian; Treasurer, Auditor, Judy Anderson; Historian, Custodian, Afton Castlemain. She then adjourned the group with best wishes for a pleasant and sunny summer. |
