Description |
Friendship was examined during the post-secondary transition in a specific community setting. Current research shows transition outcomes to be substantially lower as compared to peers. The purpose of this project was to discover the importance of quality friendships for a young adult with autism spectrum disorder through a narrative exploration. The narrative was constructed from personal interviews and written journal entries. This narrative provides a personal account of an experience during the transition period using friendship as a natural support to provide access as an inclusive community participant through past and present friendship experiences, friendship traits, and friendship themes. |
