Show WOMEN'S ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION Standing Anderson King Hogge Berghout Coombs Squires Scriven Sitting Stewart Neville Blood Lavin Mrs. Petty Hales WOMEN'S SPORTS VOLLEY-BALL: The volley-ball tournament, which ended just before the Christmas holidays, was conducted without any previous training of the teams. However, much ability and skill were displayed. Of the many teams entered, Iota Tau Kappa emerged victorious. TENNIS: The tennis season began enthusiastically early in the fall, only to be stopped by cold weather. Although the contests weren't finished, many girls participated and look forward to getting on the courts again in the spring. SWIMMING MEET: The climaxing event of the Winter Quarter was the Swimming Meet. Exhibitions of the crawl, breast stroke, back stroke, and side stroke were displayed for form and speed. There were contest games and diving exhibitions. ARCHERY: During Fall Quarter the archery contests were conducted on the Campus Green and riotously welcomed by the all the would-be archers. Even though some girls had the advantage of a past course in the sports, the amateurs made a good showing. BASKETBALL: The long-looked-forward-to basketball tournament began with the third week of Winter Quarter with a large number of teams entering. This fast game was very well played and much enjoyed. The season closed with many regrets. BADMINTON: After weeks of preparation in gym classes, a series of contest badminton games demonstrated the training the girls had received.
