Show About our Speaker Mrs, Hazel B. McEwen, a nativeof Arkansas and raised in Ogden, Utah, is the daughter of Deacon and Mrs Cecil Smith of Ogden. She has always been an active christian, having worked in various capacities here at the New Zion She is a warm and Church before moving away, friendly person and one who lives a christian life. She is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and presently works as the Chief of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Mrs. McEwen is a community oriented person as she holds membership in various organizations including the NAACP, YWCA, and Opportunity Council. Metropolitan Equal Employment Among her personal achievements are Past Worthy Matron of the Queen of the West Chapter #17, Order of Eastern Star, Ogden, Utah; she is featured in "Black Women Role Models of Greater St. Louis 1982" authored by Dr. Sheryl Clayton; nominee for 1982 Outstanding Illinois (southern) Woman of the Year; and the first woman lay~leader of the Chapel Program at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. Mrs. McEwen is married to Donald W, McEwen of Memphis, Tennessee, has one son, Ronald, and resides in O'Fallon, Illinois. Mrs. McEwen makes it Lord and follows his praise the Lord, no secret teachings that she loves the She loves to daily. |
