Title Hoover Dam_President Hoover
Creator Utah Construction Company/Utah International
Image Captions After a bitter defeat in the November 1932 election, President Hoover (center) stopped in Black Canyon while traveling back to Washington D.C. from California. Hoover poses here with Walker Young (far left), Frank Crowe (far right), and Edmund O. Wattis, to Crowe's immediate right. Six Companies strongly promoted Hoover's re-election, but he lost by a landslide even in Boulder City. Although crews were preparing to divert the Colorado River, Hoover did not stay on to witness their effort.
