A PARTIAL ECLIPSE OF THE SUN, MAY 18. INVISIBLE TO THE UNITED STATES. VISIBLE TO AUSTRALIA EXCEPT THE EXTREME NORTHERN AND NORTHEASTERN PORTIONS. A TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE MOON OCTOBER 27. VISIBLE TO AUSTRALIA AND THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS. THE BEGINNING VISIBLE GENERALLY TO WESTERN NORTH AMERICA, AND ASIA EXCEPT THE WESTERN PORTION ; THE ENDING VISIBLE GENERALLY TO ASIA, EASTERN AFRICA, AND EUROPE EXCEPT THE WESTERN PORTION.
