Name The Drama Club of Ogden (founded in 1916) ArTICcLE II. Purpose or Purposes (a) Shall be the united effort toward the study of the spoken and lyric drama. (b) To create a sympathy for the highest form of the dramatic and lyric art, creating a permanent taste for good dram a and to obtain the best plays in our City. ArTIcLe III. Membership Section 1. Membership shall be of three classes: active, sustaining and honorary, preference to be given to college women. The needs of the Club’s purpose and program must govern the selection of Candidates to be voted upon. Readers, playe rs, solo- ists, artists, pianists, are needed; Sec. 2. resident executives, the membership etc., shall be preferred being limited to forty-five. A candidate for active membership of Ogden for one year or more and as they must have been a sign the follo wing form of application: “I desire to become an active member of Drama Club of Ogden, and having carefully read its Constitution and promise, if admitted to membership, to endeavor purpose for which the club is formed.” By-Laws hereby to further the Sec. 3. The call for the special meeting must state the special business to be transacted and no business shall be transacted except that stated in the call. ArTICLE VI. Quorum Section 1. One-third of the active membership of the Club shall constitute a quorum at any regular or annual meeting, but at no time shall lack of a quorum at a regular meeting prevent those present from proceeding with the program of the day. ArTIcLE VII. Section 1. This Constitution may be amended at any annual meeting by a two-thirds vote of all active members present, the proposed amendments having been submitted in writing and read to the club at a regular meeting at least two weeks before being voted upon. Sec. 2. Amendments may also be made at any annual meeting without previous notice by the unanimous vote of all members present. Sec. 3. By-laws and standing rules may be adopted, amended, - or repealed at any regular meeting by a two-thirds vote. 16 BY-LAWS ‘Articte I. Dues Section 1. The duties of officers shall be such as are implied by their respective titles and such as are specified in these by-laws. Sec. 3. The President shall appoint all standing committees, and be ex-officio of the same without a right to vote. Sec. 4. The Recording Secretary shall receive and present all applications for membership; the membership keep of the club, with an accurate classified list of the address and telephone of each member; receive all money due the club and pay the same to the Treasurer, giving or takinga receipt for each sum transferred; notify delinquent members as required in Article 1, Section 2 of these By-laws, by January 1 of each year, take from the roll the names of all those whose dues have not been paid and those who have been absent three consecutive times without excuse. “Sec. 5. The Corresponding Secretary shall notify all applicants for membership of their election or their rejection, also notify all officers of their election and committees of their ap- ‘pointment and in general conduct the correspondence of the club. The: Treasurer shall pay bills only upon warrants signed by the President and Secretary; keep an itemized account of all receipts and disbursements and present a written report at 17 the first meeting each month of the transaction of the preceding month.
