| Biographical/Historical Note |
When the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Junior Sunday School was established in the Harrisville Ward meeting house at 1300 North Harrisville Road, suitable size seating was needed for children. In the 1940s, local member carpenters volunteered to make little benches which they painted white. Additional benches were built for the Junior Sunday and Primary room through the years as needed. The benches were sometimes moved into the chapel to be used for special presentations by the children. The benches continued in use until they were replaced with small folding chairs a few years before the 1300 North church house was removed and replaced with a new church at 435 West Harrisville Road. |
