Show COLORFUL SUBSTITUTES? The four gals above may not be called upon for backfield duty with Weber College, but they are willing, Reed Swenson, athletic director announces. Weber College opens her 1946 season Friday night against Branch Aggies at Ogden stadium. Kickoff time if 8 p.m. The coeds are, left to right: Shirley Chandler, Mary Jensen, Beth Wilde and Norma Manning. Weber College Wildcats Out in Record Numbers for First Workout SEVENTY-FIVE GET SUITS . . . The football equipmen at Weber college was drained Tuesday when 75 candidates were issued suits in the greatest football turnout in history, said Coach Reed K. Swenson. Shown above are the portion of the candidates at the stadium workout with (left center) Tom Lawson, assistant coach, and (right center) Milton Meecham, head football coach. It looks like a great football season, said Swenson, with Meecham, Lawson and the men plenty enthusiastic. The boys are heavy and many are ex-GIs. They are working out at eight=thirty a.m. and four p.m. daily at the stadium with the first game September 27 in Ogden, with Branch Agricultual college Broncos.Staff photo. |
