Show Biographical Summary Pastor Andre L. Hance, Sr. Pastor Hance was ordained Deacon in the African American Episcopal Church in 1982, in the Ninth Episcopal District by Bishop Philip R, Cousin. He was ordained Itinerant Elder in 1985, also in the Ninth Episcopal District by Bishop Frank.M. Reid, Jr. In the beginning of his ministry, Pastor Hance received leadership and guidance from the Reverend Roy Everett Peters. Rev. Peters was Rev. Hance’s Pastor, friend, and true mentor up until his death. Previous Pastoral Appointments; St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Sconiersville, AL., Bethel A,M.E. Church in Sampson, AL., and St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Geneva, AL., all within the Ninth Episcopal District. Rev. Hance also served as an Officer in the U.S. Armed Forces and transferred from the Ninth Episcopal District in order to perform his activity duty military commitments. Rev. Hance transferred to the Eighth Episcopal District while stationed in Mississippi. His military career also prompted his subsequent transfers to the Twelfth Episcopal District while stationed in Oklahoma, the Third Episcopal District while stationed in Ohio and Pennsylvania, and the Fourth Episcopal District while stationed in Illinois and Wisconsin. Rev. Hance entered the Fifth Episcopal District, Colorado Conference by letter of transfer from Bishop Philip R, Cousin from the Fourth Episcopal District. Pastor Hance, who ts also a Major in the U.S. Army, left active duty in October 2000 and entered the U.S. Army Reserve. He continued to serve in the Army Reserve until his appointment as Pastor of Embry Chapel in August 2002. “Major Hance” has over 26 years of service to the U.S. Armed Forces. His military assignments include Instructor of Command and General Staff College, Personnel Officer, Operations Officer, and Air Traffic Controller. His education accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Troy State University, an Associate of Applied Science in Professional Piloting from the Community College of Beaver County, an Associate of Applied Science in Data Processing from George Wallace College, and an Associate of Applied Science in Management from Troy State University. He is currently enrolled in Seminary working toward his Master of Divinity degree. Pastor Hance 1s an aviation enthusiast and possesses his Certified Flight Instructor License as a Commercial, Single and Multi-Engine Land Instrument Pilot. He uses his aviation training and accomplishments as a ministry to promote and introduce aviation as a career potential to our youth. He is also Pilot with the Civil Air Patrol. Pastor Hance 1s married to Carol Hance who is a Chief Warrant Officer on active duty in the U.S. Army. Pastor Hance lives in Syracuse with his wife and their son Mark, Pee YoYreoYoVo |
