Show Founding Families of Utah Construction Company Preface October 2005 The history of the Utah Construction Company and its successor companies is an American success story, stretching from its simple beginnings laying rail lines across the West to its role in creating some of the most monumental and important structures of the 20th century. From its founding in Ogden, Utah, in 1900 until 1976, when Utah International and General Electric negotiated the largest corporate U.S. merger to that time, Utah Construction transformed lives worldwide through the vision of its founders. This company's history would not be complete without knowing the founding families and the legacy of those surrounding Utah Construction. A copy of this document will be placed in the Utah Construction Collection in the Stewart Library at Weber State University. We will update it periodically as new information on the families' genealogy is received. Founding Families is a work in progress. We welcome any additions, deletions, or information that will help us better capture your family's lineage and history to enrich the Utah Construction Collection. Please phone Marilyn Ryan at 801-626-7102 or e-mail at mryan@weber.edu, with corrections or new information. We hope you enjoy this book. |
