Show Wide Open Contest Looms at Affleck Park; Big Crowd Will Be in Stands Weber college Wildcats will hold a slight edge over Glendale, Calif., footballers when the two teams collide at Affleck park in an intersectional clash this evening. The kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. f The Glendale machine arrived by air Friday in time for a drill under the lights at Affleck park. Coach Bill Reinhard, former Los Angelees Dons star, reports his men in fine shape for the test with Weber. Reinhard states that 40 players made the jaunt. Abe Elliott, director of athletics, Les Owens, equipment manager and Dave Titchenal, football mentor, also made the jaunt. The Weberites will be out to even the score against Glendale. Last year Glendale won the tussle in California, 40-0. Weber displayed a lot of power in trouncing Mesa of Colorado, 41- 0 last week. Coach Milt Mecham j reports his charges ready and fit for the test against the Californians. Football fans are promised a wide open contest tonight with end runs and passes galore. Mecham announces his probable lineup as follows: EndsRay Rhead and Sterling Gardner. TacklesHenry Gramberg and Sonny Bray. Guards Charles Kalani and Walter Zeimer. CenterWalter Gabbert. QuarterbacksJimmy Miyasato or Vance Bitton. Left halfbackMerrill Shupe or Lloyd Draayer. Right halfbackRod Pollard or Don Madsen. Fullback Ron Flygare or Claude Mills. Coach Reinhard expects to start the following men at kickoff time., tonight: EndsLouis Farlan and Jerry Roberts; tackles, Richard Fraley and Lloyd Massey; guards, Robert Elias and Frank Trump; center, Jerry Zoerb; quarterback, James Powell; halfbacks, Jim Grant and Charles Brazel; fullback, Arlan Dussault. The Wildcat band and pep club will be on hand tonight for Weber's second game of the season. JoAnne Milnar, the Wildcats' football queen, will also be on hand for the four-period classic. |
