Show And Our Dear School. MYRNA LARSEN, Weber college student body vice president, and John Elzey, student body president, put the finishing touches on "Standing Heifer," the wooden Indian that will go each year to the victor of the Weber-Boise Junior college game. The two teams will meet at 8:15 o'clock tonight in the Bronco stadium in Boise. At half time of the game, Elzey and Jerry Crandall, BJC student body president, formally will dedicate the wooden Indian to better school spirit. Festive Hoop Season, Says Swenson Coach Swenson announces practice for the 1953-1954 basketball season. Practice is into its second week. "A very competitive season is expected," says Coach Swenson. Weber's first basketball game of the year will be in a dual program featuring Weber versus Hill Air Base, and Westminister against Travis Air Base on Nevember 8. On December 12, Weber will go on the road. They will play at Grand Junction, Colorado; Big Springs, Texas; Kilgore, Texas; Tyler, Texas; Jacksonville, Texas; Deckteur, Texas, and Borger, Texas. They will return home to open the league season play with Carbon at Price, Utah, on December 28. Determined by region play, the N.J.C.A.A. Region Four Tournament is scheduled for February 19 and 20 at Ephraim, Utah. Winners for the Region Four Tournament will be featured at a Tournament at Hutchinson, Kansas, from March 9 to 13. |
