Maughan was an outstanding athlete both in high school and college. During his stay at Utah State, he gained All-Conference honors in football for three years and received honorable mention on several Ail-American teams. Maughan did a hitch in the army during the war and served as recreation director at Fort Douglas, Utah and later served in several south Pacific campaigns. After his release from the armed forces he assumed head coaching chores at the Branch Aggies of Cedar City. Branch Aggies Backfield Coach MAJOR OLIVER HARRIS Major Harris is commander of the newly organized R. O. T. C. unit at B. A. C. He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburg, where he starred in the fullback spot. He coached Temple University of Philadelphia and also played fullback several seasons for the Detroit Lions, a pro ball club. Harris assumed backfield responsibilities this season with the "Broncos".
