Show Football WEBER 42 SNOW NORMAL O THE big goal set by the Weber football team and student body was to win another Junior College title. Nothing less would satisfy, since nine letter-men from the Championship team of the previous year were back in fighting togs. The first game of the season, with Snow Normal of Ephraim as opponents gave to the many students in attendance at Lorin Farr Park, a marked confidence in the ability of Weber's men. Not once during the entire game did the Ephraim team come within scoring distance of Weber's goal. Not once during the game did they succeed in recording a first down. This in itself is something Weber's team had never accomplished in previous years against an opposing team. Weber proved to be strong in all parts of the sport, and exceptionally powerful on the offensive. Time after time Weber's backs made long gains through both the center of the line and around the ends. As for her forward passes, it was near an impossibility for the Snow team to break them up. It can truly be said that the Wildcats easily outclassed the visitors in every department of the game. Although Snow had a heavy and well-balanced fighting team, they seemed to lack the application of the finer points of the game; thus Weber's experienced eleven was able to hand the Southern team a good trouncing. From the score of forty-two to zero, it is evident that "Weber made it hot for Snow." |
