Brown is currently the Senior Pastor and Founder of New Life Baptist Church of Christ in Sacramento, California, which was established in January | 1987. | | : 4 He graciously yielded to God’s destiny for him and accepted the call to ministry on September 13, 1978. He was later ordained for the ministry in October 1980. His first divine assignment as a full-time Pastor was to the flock of the Del Paso Union Baptist Church in Sacramento, California, where he served from November 1982 to August 1986. Reverend Brown has a number of Christian academic achievements, such as attendance of the Conroe Industrial Theological Seminary, Sacramento, California, from September 1978 to June 1980. He has received several Christian Life Diplomas on a variety of spiritual leadership and development subjects awarded by the Church Study Course & Seminary Extension Department of the Southern Baptist Convention. He has performed extensive executive level ministerial counseling and work within the ‘ ' Reverend Brown has attended California Polytechnic State University as well as California State University with a major in Business Administration, Human Resources Management and a minor in Business Law. Reverend Brown has and continues to be extensively involved in his community with emphasis on all levels of public school education. He has been a guest lecturer for the Sociology Department of the University of California, Davis Extension. a Sacramento Region of the Southern Baptist Association. He has coordinated citywide revivals; served as Director of the Metro Area Children’s Fellowship, an Associate Professor Recruit for the Golden State Theological Seminary, been a church and conference facilitator at the city, state, and national levels; as well as the Director of Area Church Growth & Evangelism Conferences from 1997 to present. He has been. married for 28 years to Mrs. Billie R. (Brooks) Brown, who has been a Preschool Teacher with the North Sacramento School District for 11 years. They have four children: Antwon Lamont, LaQuanta Monik, Elijah Paul and Amelia LaVon, all of | 7 whom are in college and high school. |
