Show eee eee ee en The Christmas THE STORY Cantata, the OF Story BETHLEHEM of Bethlehem, was presented on Dec. 20th in the high school auditorium. The program began with a beautiful candlelight procession during which the Glee Club and orchestra presented Schubert’s ‘Ave Maria’, with Marie Norseth, soloist. A Yuletide Prayer was recited by a speech choir, the Glee Club sang, ‘Children’s Prayer’, then the chorus, with Lila Child as soloist, sang ‘Christmas Tide’, accompanied by the orchestra. Oakley Moore sang ‘The Holy City’ and Lavern Thompson sang Bach-Gounod's ‘Ave wind Maria’. There were two instrumental numbers quintet of Emma consisting Bowers, on the program; the first, Ruth Elaine Wagstaff, Junior Stokes and Wendall Barker, played ‘Silent Night’. The second, a brass quartet consisting Oakley Carver, of Rosemary played Schofield, Maurine Loa Garlick, Carr, Moore and Murray ‘O Holy Night’. Soloists in ‘The Story of Bethlehem’ Orville Holley, Harold included Helen Steele, Stanley Green, Westergard, Jessie Bingham, Harold Orton and Betty Lou Lamoreaux.
