CHRISTMAS CANTATA From a number of excellent previous cantatas, Mr. Reid compiled outstanding selections into one brilliant and memorable feature. This entertainment presented the highlight of the Orchestral achievement. All members of the Orchestra participated, played for nearly all numbers, and made this cantata more outstanding. Soloists were: Howard Ellis, Lucy Switzer, Ramona Bingham, Junior Stokes, LaVern Thompson, Betty Boekway and Lila Child. Mixed groups were: Melba Barker, Ramona McFarland, Donna Allen, Helen Butler, Stuart Cramer, Jack Bingham, Harriet Johns, and Helen Southwick. The direction of W. Eugene Reid. Music Instructor, again brought commendation to his students. Other noteworthy individuals were: advertising: Donna Allen, Shirley Cunnington, and Howard Ellis; decorations: Melba Barker, Betty Boekway, Helen Butler, and Junior Powell; stage manager: Paul Hyer; ushers: Pep Club members.
