Since 1953, students at Ben Lomond High School have been creating scrapbooks. These books document the memories of the students each year. The scrapbooks hold a snapshot and time capsule of each student body. Each one contains photographs, newspaper articles and a written yearly history. |

Show | This yvent oF aiden adil at Ben Lomond” High has hon- ored two Scots as “Students of the Month.” The student body also honored two teachers as ‘Teachers of the Month.” The student council includes all of the student officers at Ben Lemond. The group chose Les Townsend, a senior, as ‘‘Student of the Month”? - for September. Les served as captain of the football team. During the sea- son, he made nine touchdowns. Les is .also a heavyweight wrestler and a member of the track team. He rounds out his sports activities with skiing and golfing. Les is also on the debate team. He enjoys extemporane- ous speaking. His favorite classes are debate and a ogy. RUNS TRACK: Art Pietschman, another athlete, was Student ‘of the Month for ‘November. Art is a senior. The council chose him for the award because he won second place in the city-county cross country track race. Art has raced since the ninth grade. He runs two hours each weekday. He is a member of the dance and ski clans. His favor- lass is history. Art plans to id the University of Utah next year. This is the first-year that the Scots have selected ‘Teachers of the Month.” Both Mrs. -Carolyn Oborne and Dee Bullock’ have received the award. | HELPS COUNSELORS| Mrs. Oborne is the smiling secretary who helps the counselors. She adds, “I help the computer, too!” — Mrs. Oborne has worked. at Ben Lomond for two years. She is studying at Weber State College to become a counselor’s ‘aide. She doesn’t plan to leave Ben Lomond.
