Dear Mr. Bennett: Heretofore, we carefully kept a record of serial numbers of guns shipped to various jobbers, Our main purpose in keeping this record was mainly to be able to check on price situations and disturbances that frequently developed, sale of guns through are in control this serial of number the Sincewe now have no cause to trace jobbers and in view of the fact that price record up situation, this we have the we not been keeping year. We, of course, keep all identification blanks filed so they are easily accessible, which is a different matter from the serial number recordwe formerly kept. Considerable time is required to keep such a serial number record and I do not think the possible and remote uses to which it could be put are worth the cost of keeping the record.
