Show ganuary 12,1934, Honorable Abe Murdock, House of Representatives, Washington, Dele Dear Nre Murdock: My cousin, Captein W.G Child, at present in command of the U.S.3S, Langley, is very eager to obtain an appointment to the Naval Academy at Anapolis for his son Daniel VM. Child, and it is with pleasure that I endorse the application. My lifelong friendship with Captain Child, more than my relationship, has permitted me to follow his career from the time he entered Anapolis. His record in the Navy is one of steady advancement, am he has filled a number of stations of exceptional responsibility. Captain Child has an unusually large number of relatives in this vicinity, many of whom have followed his career with interest, and all of whom will be gratified if his son obtains this appointment. | Sincerely, |
