Show "HOSA is a club where they introduce students to the health field and what it means to be a leader. They arrange blood drives to help the local hospitals, organize service projects that help the community, organize activities to keep HOSA members involved! They have a leadership conference at the beginning of the year that new officers attend to help them to be prepared, strong leaders. These presidents take notes on what is being taught and then they try to incorporate into the club to make it better and stronger. At the end of the year they have a HOSA state competition where all the clubs in the state (including middle school and college) come together and compete in different events. There are over 100 events, ranging from emergency preparedness, leadership, community help, and health professions. Every HOSA group participates in a service project. The Weber High chapter is making Food Packs for the local elementary that feed into Weber high. We deliver over 100 packs every week to the schools to help students that may not have a reliable food source over the weekend. I feel that we are making a difference." -Darci McNeely (12) | Oriannah Furgeson (12) ahd. | Maitlynn Munns (12) President Darci McNeely (12) "As a president, Alex and I run the meetings and finalize ideas, but we really count on our other amazing officers to help plan the activities and the different events we do. I love HOSA becasue its like a second family; we know each other by name, know their intrests and schedules, and can trust and support each other. I joined HOSA my sophomore year as just an officer, and I immediately fell in love with it. There’s just this special feeling of security there that comes from our advisors and the other officers. When everything was going crazy in my life, HOSA was a constant that I could rely on. And I show that that love and support every week in our meetings to make sure everyone is okay and going smoothly. I’m going to be sad when I leave Weber and no longer have a health club to rely on." ‘Bi d 00 Dn ta rive |
