Show GEORGETOWN, S.C. 1924. 22, Octobe®, Mr c/o e Me. i) e Br owning J. M. & Me Ogden, Utah. Dear Co., Sir: In Your the 9 S. Browning re; Abstract of Title, George McCormick. favor preparation of of the an Abstract 15th Lands inst., of of relative Title to to lands in this County in which you and Mr. George McCormick are interested, has been duly received. I will furnish you with a complete Abstract of the Title to this property for a fee of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars, or, if you prefer, will send you an Abstract of the Conveyance to Mr. McCormick, together with a eertificate as to encumbrances against the property for a fee of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars. gee were I might explain that the records of this County destroyed during the Civil War and hence there are very few titles which can be traced back prior-.to the year 1868. It is usually necessary, however, to go back this far before an opinion on the validity of the title can be formed. This is so because the titles invariably depend upon possession. I do not think that the mere Abstracting of the last two or three links in this chain of title, as suggested by you, would be sufficient to determine the validity. However, I will be governed by your desires and will furnish either the partial abstract or the complete abstract as you may desire. Awaiting your further instructions Yours: very. in truig, the matter, |
