Show J. M. & M. S. Browning i718 Washington Avenue St. Louis 3, Missouri Attention: Mr. Dear Sir: Our records Company Goddard indicate that you have on file in this office a General Term Bond for the Entry of Merchandise, customs Form 7595, in the sum of $100,000.00, dated March 22, 1950, for the period March 22, 1950 to March 21, 1951, both dates Missouri inclusive. This bond is on file at the port of St. Louis, only. Pursuant to the provisions of Treasury decisions Nos. 52403, 52508 and 52509, you are advised that this bond will become inoperative on July 15, 1950 unless a “Stipulation and consent agreement for customs Form 7595”, four copies of which are enclosed, is filed. We do not have copies of the revised customs Form 7595; however, we understand that the essential difference between the bond currently in effect and the new revised Form 7595 is that the form currently in effect provides for the payment of liquidated damages under certain conditions, whereas the new revised Form 7595 provides for the payment of duties and/or taxes which may be found due on shipments covered by the bond. The four copies of the stipulation should all be executed, and the original and one copy should be returned to this office for transmittal to the Bureau of Gustoms for approval; two copies should be retained by you, one for your files and one for the files of the surety company. The surety should be the same company which is acting as surety on your bond that is now on file. % In view of the fact that your present bond will become inoperative on July 15, 1950 unless the enclosed stipulation and consent agreement is filed, it is requested that you give this matter your prompt attention. Should there be any further information which you desire, please call at this office, or telephone and we shall endeavor to fully explain the procedure. Very truly yours, (Signed) Enclosures W. H. Massot Acting Collector of Customs |
