Convair Atlas Missile Installation The owner of this project was the United States Air Force and the architects were: General Dynamics/Astronautics (Convair) in San Diego, California. The work performed was installation, maintenance and checkout of 12 Atlas F Missile Sites at Schilling Air Force Base, Salina, Kansas. This cost plus fixed fee project was negotiated from September through December, 1960. Utah-Manhattan-Sundt and Associates, a joint venture consisting of Utah (sponsor) 35%, M. M. Sundt Construction Co. 30%, the Howard P. Foley Co. 15%, Tidmarsh Engineering Co. 12-1/2%, and Manhattan Construction Co. of Oklahoma 7-1/2%. This project was awarded January 6, 1961 and the commencement date was March 1, 1961. The work was officially completed September 19, 1962.
