Wilcox Chairman of the Board Crocker National bank One Montgomery Street San Francisco, California 94104 Dear Tom, Many thanks for your kind letter of October 13. Your sentiments are very much appreciated. The work that remains to be done is the holding of shareholder meetings by G. E. and Utah International on December 15 and the closing of the transaction on December 20. This is not too generous a time schedule and the role that the bank might play in facilitating it is primarily to be sure that its Trust Department gets its proxies in diligent fashion. In this respect Crocker is relatively more important than most of the other banks because of the Utah stock that is in the bank. On some of this I am a co-trustee but in other instances it is the bank that must contact the beneficial owners. With best personal regards, EWL/nf P.S.
