Show Five Generations From 1853 FAMILY GROUP . . . Here are five generations of the family of Mrs, Mary Ann Smith of Morgan. Standing, left to right, Mrs. Fred Spauld- ing of Newdale, Idaho; Mrs. William Ovard of Rexburg, Idaho; seated, left to right, Mrs. Mary Ann Smith of Morgan, Joyce Spaulding of Newdale and Mrs. Godfrey Klinger of Newdale. Mrs. Smith was born in Brighton, England, July 18, 1853, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Simmons. She is an early Utah pioneer. Her parents settled in Salt Lake valley in 1855 and moved to Provo at the time of the invasion of Johnson's army. In 1861 they settled in Morgan. She was married to Benjamin F. Smith, also a Utah pioneer, in 1871 in the Salt Lake Endowment house. Mrs. Smith is the oldest woman in Morgan countyJ She is active in church affairs and is the mother of 10 children.
